What a climbing course takes

LiFePO4 battery cells

A course cut into a hillside asks a cart for sustained current rather than short bursts. A long climb at low speed holds the motor near its limit for a minute at a time, and a lead bank sags through it, losing speed toward the top. This pack holds its terminal voltage through the pull, and the cart reaches the crest at the speed it started.

Capacity For The Terrain

6,912 watt-hours

Consumption on a hilly course runs half again what a flat one takes. 6,912 watt-hours cover a full round on that terrain with the reserve a fleet manager needs before letting a cart out for a second group. On flat ground the same pack covers two rounds.

Heat

Sustained current in summer

Repeated climbs in warm weather heat any battery. The cells here sit in a case built for airflow around them, and the management board reads cell temperature and eases the current before anything reaches its limit. Lead in the same duty gasses and loses water.

Regenerative Braking

Coming back down

Carts with regenerative braking put charge back into the pack on the descent. Lithium accepts that return current where a full lead bank cannot, and on a course with long downhill runs the recovered energy is a real fraction of what the climb took.
