The 48V 100Ah Golf Cart Battery is a 51.2-volt LiFePO4 pack of 5,120 watt-hours with a 200-amp continuous rating and a touchscreen state-of-charge display, rated IP67. It fits four to six-seat carts.
The Display
Why a voltmeter is not a fuel gauge
A lead cart shows its charge through a sagging voltmeter, and drivers learn to read it. Lithium holds its voltage almost flat from full to nearly empty. The same gauge then tells a driver nothing. The touchscreen counts the amp-hours in and out and reports a percentage, along with pack temperature and the current draw.
Range
5,120 watt-hours on a course
At 2 to 4 kilowatt-hours a round, the pack covers a full eighteen holes and much of a second, or a day of shuttling between a clubhouse and a car park. A resort using carts for guest transport gets a full day between charges rather than a mid-afternoon swap.
200 Amps
Headroom for a six-seater
A stretched six-seat cart carries close to 500 kilograms of passengers. The 200-amp continuous rating covers the motor working under that load on a grade, and the 400-amp peak takes the launch. An undersized pack shows itself here, cutting out on the steepest part of the property.
Charging
Overnight on a fleet
At 20 amps a fully drawn pack refills in about five hours, comfortably inside a night. A fleet of carts on individual chargers turns over between the last round and the first tee time, and partial charges through the day cost the pack nothing.
