36V 100Ah Trolling Battery

$699.00

38.4V 100Ah LiFePO4 trolling battery, 3840Wh, 100A continuous, with a state-of-charge display, IP65. Built for all-day fishing on an aluminium boat.

SKU: DC36-100 Category:

The 36V 100Ah Trolling Battery is a 38.4-volt pack of 3,840 watt-hours with a 100-amp continuous rating and a state-of-charge display, rated IP65. It is built for all-day fishing on an aluminium or glass boat.

A Full Day

3,840 watt-hours on the water

LiFePO4 battery cells

A 112-pound motor at 36 volts pulls about 62 amps at full power and a quarter of that at a fishing pace. Across a tournament day of spot-lock holding, repositioning and a few long runs down a bank, the average lands near 15 to 20 amps. 100 amp-hours cover five to six hours of that with reserve, and the pack still holds voltage for the electronics at the end of the day.

The Display

Knowing what is left

Lead batteries give a rough warning through fading motor speed. Lithium holds its voltage almost flat, and that same flat curve makes a voltmeter close to useless as a fuel gauge. The state-of-charge display on this pack reads the coulombs in and out and reports a percentage. An angler can then decide whether to run to the far bank on what is left.

The Install

One case, one circuit

Three lead batteries and their cabling come out, and one 29-kilogram case goes in with a single pair of leads and a breaker sized to the motor. On an aluminium boat that also removes three sets of terminals from a damp bilge, where corrosion usually starts.

Protection

Breaker and cable sizing

A 112-pound motor pulling 62 amps at full power wants a 60 to 70-amp resettable breaker on the positive lead, mounted close to the battery. Size the cable to the run length as well as to the current, since a long bow run needs a heavier gauge than the breaker rating alone suggests. Check the terminal torque after the first tournament.
