A machine that empties its battery

Traction and lighting equipment differs from a standby battery in one way that decides the purchase: it runs its pack down every working day. A lead battery worked that way gives 300 to 500 cycles before its capacity falls off, roughly a year and a half of daily use. This pack holds 4,000 cycles at 80 percent depth, more than a decade at one cycle a day.
The Machines
AGV, chair and light tower
A small warehouse AGV draws its 40-amp rating in bursts as it accelerates and lifts, then idles between moves. A mobile lighting tower runs a steady LED load through a night shift. A powered chair alternates short high-current bursts with long quiet stretches. All three suit a pack rated for depth of discharge rather than for cranking.
Opportunity Charging
Topping up between shifts
Lithium takes a partial charge without penalty. A machine parked for twenty minutes at a break takes what charge it can and goes back to work, and the pack keeps no memory of the interruption. A lead battery in the same routine sulfates from the repeated partial charges.
Fitment
The tray it drops into
The 328 by 172 by 215 millimetre body matches the BCI Group 31 footprint. A machine built around two 12-volt Group 31 lead batteries in series has a tray this pack fits directly, and the swap takes one case out of the frame along with the interconnect cable between the pair. Check tray depth and terminal orientation before ordering.

Fit
Charging
A 24-volt lithium charger at 29.2 volts fills the pack in about an hour at its rated current. Set an on-board machine charger to an LFP profile before the first charge.
