24V 60Ah Wheelchair Battery

$319.00

25.6V 60Ah LiFePO4 wheelchair battery, 1536Wh, IP54, quiet and EMC-optimised, on a custom bracket. For powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

SKU: DC24-60 Category:

The 24V 60Ah Wheelchair Battery is a 25.6-volt pack of 1,536 watt-hours built on a custom bracket, rated IP54, with a quiet and EMC-optimised design. It serves powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Electrical Noise

Why EMC matters on a chair

LiFePO4 battery cells

A powered chair carries a joystick controller, a seat actuator and often a communication module, all on the same 24-volt bus as the drive motors. Switching noise from a battery management board couples into that bus and shows up as a twitchy joystick or a controller fault. The board in this pack is laid out and filtered for that environment, and it runs without a cooling fan.

Range

1,536 watt-hours on the road

A mid-size powered chair uses 20 to 30 watt-hours a kilometre on level ground with an average rider. 1,536 watt-hours give a working range of 50 to 70 kilometres between charges, well past a day of errands. Hills, soft ground and a heavier load pull that figure down, and the flat lithium discharge holds motor speed steady to the end of the charge.

Air Travel

A limit to know before you fly

Aviation rules cap a lithium battery installed in a mobility aid at 300 watt-hours, with spares onboard limited to 160 watt-hours, and airlines ask for notice at least 48 hours ahead. At 1,536 watt-hours this pack is a daily-use battery for a chair that stays on the ground. A traveller needs a separate airline-compliant pack inside those limits.

The Routine

Overnight and top-up charging

A chair charges overnight through its own port. At the 10 to 12 amps a typical chair charger supplies, a fully used 60 amp-hour pack refills in five to six hours, inside a normal night. Partial charges through the day cost the pack nothing. A user can top up over lunch without shortening its life.
