Auto 12V Auxiliary LFP Battery H5

$229.00

12.8V 60Ah LiFePO4 auxiliary battery in the H5 case, 800 CCA, 8.5 kg, automotive BMS with sleep protection. Replaces the 12V lead battery in an EV or hybrid.

SKU: ST12-60 Category:

The Auto 12V Auxiliary LFP Battery H5 is a 12.8-volt 60 amp-hour pack rated 800 cold-cranking amps, in the standard H5 case with an automotive BMS and sleep protection. It replaces the 12-volt lead battery an electric or hybrid car carries for its low-voltage systems.

The EV Problem

Why the 12V battery dies first

LiFePO4 starter battery cells

An electric car still runs its computers, locks, lights and contactors from a 12-volt battery, and that battery only gets charged through the DC-DC converter while the high-voltage system is awake. A car parked for two weeks gets no top-up at all. Sentry and security modes keep drawing the whole time, and the converter stops feeding the 12-volt side when the traction pack falls below roughly twenty percent. The lead battery fitted from the factory is small, cycles deeply on that standby load, and sulfates.

What Changes

A pack built for the duty

This pack handles that pattern. It holds 768 watt-hours against the 30 to 40 a small lead auxiliary battery gives usefully, it accepts thousands of shallow cycles rather than a few hundred, and it loses 2 to 3 percent a month sitting idle. The sleep-protection circuit drops the pack into a low-draw state during long parking and wakes it on the converter.

Cranking

800 amps for combustion cars

The same case suits a conventional car. 800 cold-cranking amps start a petrol or small diesel engine, and the 8.5-kilogram pack replaces a 17 to 19-kilogram lead unit in the same H5 tray.

Before Fitting

Battery sensors and registration

Some vehicles run a monitoring sensor on the negative lead and adapt their charging to a stored battery type. Those cars expect a lead profile and want the new battery registered through the service procedure after a change. Check what the vehicle asks for before fitting, and confirm the charging voltage at the terminal stays inside the 14.6-volt limit.

Fit

Charging

The car’s converter or alternator charges the pack in service. For a bench charge use a lithium charger at 14.6 volts. Confirm the vehicle does not run a pulsed lead-recovery charge routine before fitting.
