The 12V 460Ah 8D LiFePO4 Battery fills the BCI 8D case with 5,888 watt-hours, on a 250-amp continuous rating and M8 terminals, with internal heating and an optional CAN bus, rated IP65. It is the largest battery in the range, for a yacht, a large coach or a disaster-backup bank.
The Flagship 8D
5.9 kilowatt-hours in one case

5,888 watt-hours in a single 8D box replace a bank of four or five smaller batteries with one unit and one set of connections. The 250-amp continuous rating feeds a large inverter direct, and the 500-amp five-second peak takes its surge. Internal heating lets the block charge in the cold.
Integration
CAN and certification
An optional CAN bus links the battery to a compatible inverter-charger or system controller for cell-level data and coordinated charging. A UL1973 option covers installs that need the certified safety standard, on a commercial vessel or a permanent backup. The internal heater handles cold-weather charging.
Yacht And Backup
One case, the full load
On a yacht or a coach the block carries the full domestic load. As a disaster-backup bank it holds a home’s essentials through a multi-day outage behind a solar array and an inverter-charger. Blocks parallel for a larger bank.
Against Lead
Store and weight
An 8D lead battery gives about 100 to 125 usable amp-hours past 60 kilograms. This 8D gives the full 460 amp-hours at 41 kilograms and more than 4,000 cycles.
Handling
Weight and mounting
An 8D battery is a two-person lift at 41 kilograms, a third of the 60-plus of the lead 8D it replaces. The case sits in a standard 8D tray with a hold-down bar, and the M8 posts take the heavy cable a 250-amp bank runs. On a yacht or a coach the single case drops the install to one battery box and one pair of runs.
