12V 140Ah LiFePO4 Battery

The 12V 140Ah LiFePO4 Battery is a 1,792 watt-hour block with a 140-amp continuous rating, on M8 terminals, rated IP65. It is a marine house battery for a liveaboard or a cruising boat.

On The Boat

A liveaboard day

A boat lived aboard runs its house loads off this bank at anchor: a 12-volt fridge and freezer, cabin and navigation lights, the water and bilge pumps, instruments and charging. That draw lands near 100 to 130 amp-hours across a day, and 1,792 watt-hours carry it with reserve. The 140-amp rating runs a 1,500-watt inverter for the galley.

Marine Build

House apart from crank

The block sits on the house side, wired apart from the engine-start battery. A long night at anchor cannot reach the cranking supply. The sealed IP65 case suits a damp bilge locker where a flooded battery would gas. A shore charger, an alternator DC-DC unit or a solar arch refills it.

Against Lead

Store and weight

A lead bank of the same 140Ah rating gives about 70 usable amp-hours at close to 45 kilograms. This one block gives the full 140 amp-hours at 15 kilograms, in a single case.

At Anchor

The overnight reserve

A night at anchor sets the size of the house bank. The fridge and freezer cycle through the dark, the anchor light burns, the bilge pump waits, and the instruments draw their trickle. That overnight load runs 40 to 60 amp-hours on a warm night, and 1,792 watt-hours hold several nights between charges. A solar arch or a wind generator tops the bank by day.
