The 12V 400Ah LiFePO4 Battery fills the BCI 8D case with 5,120 watt-hours, on a dual-core BMS and M8 terminals, rated IP65. It is the largest single-case 12-volt battery in the range, for a yacht or a large motorhome.
The 8D Case
One box, a whole bank

The 8D is the biggest standard automotive and marine battery case. 5,120 watt-hours in one 8D box replace a bank of three or four smaller batteries with a single unit and one set of connections. A dual-core BMS carries the current two banks would share, and the 250-amp continuous rating feeds a large inverter direct.
Yacht And Coach House
The full domestic load
On a yacht or a coach the block runs the full domestic load: refrigeration, lighting, water systems, electronics and a 2,000-watt-plus inverter for the galley. The 500-amp five-second peak takes an inverter’s surge at start. One 8D case makes an install that a multi-battery bank complicates.
Building Bigger
Past 5 kilowatt-hours
For more than 5,120 watt-hours the block parallels. The 460Ah 8D is the next step in the same case. Match blocks by resting voltage before joining, and size the inverter on the number in parallel.
Against Lead
Store and weight
An 8D lead battery gives about 100 to 125 usable amp-hours at 60 kilograms or more. This 8D gives the full 400 amp-hours at 36.5 kilograms and more than 4,000 cycles, in the same case footprint.

Fit
Charging and banks
Fill the 8D at 14.6 volts from a lithium charger or an LFP solar controller rated for the bank. A second 8D joins in parallel once the two rest at the same voltage.
